Today’s Washington Post includes a story citing DC-specific census data on poverty among youth and highlighting the challenge this presents for nonprofits seeking to prevent homelessness in the face of funding cutbacks.
MORE THAN ONE IN FOUR District children were living in poverty last year, even as the region was weathering the recession’s onset better than most metropolitan areas, according to census data released Tuesday.
