SBY deepens partnership with Ballou Senior High School

New contracts with the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) and federal Health and Human Services will deepen Sasha Bruce Youthwork’s long-standing work at Ballou Senior High School in Ward 8.
Our agency was selected by OSSE in August to manage the after-school programming at Ballou. And we learned yesterday that the federal government will commit a multi-year contract to SBY to offer pregnancy prevention services to sexually active students at the school. This exciting new project will use an evidence-based curriculum called the Teen Outreach Program (TOP). A primary TOP strategy is community service, and we will be partnering with City Year DC, the DC Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy and for evaluation, the well-regarded Child Trends, Inc.
