Rites of Passage
Rites of Passage is a five-month program that gives youth a better understanding of their African and African-American heritage and culture, and the positive contributions that Africans and African Americans have made to history. The African-American community’s concept of rites of passage includes traditions that help young people connect to the cultural community. The program covers topics such as sisterhood and brotherhood, self-esteem, values, history, sexuality, self-sufficiency, and careers.
