D.C. United will team up with the Sasha Bruce Youthwork to hold a Valentine’s Arts & Crafts session for Tyler Elementary School youth and their families as part of the team’s United Builds program. The event will take place Thursday, February 13th , from 3:45-5:45 p.m., at The Fridge art studio.
The project will pair youth with DC United’s Black-and-Red staff and volunteers to create handmade Valentine’s Day cards and cookies. The items will then be used as gifts from the kids to their families or will go to youth in Sasha Bruce’s emergency youth shelters.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Sasha Bruce Youth Network and Tyler Elementary School on such a unique project”, said Victor Melara, Director of Community Relations for D.C. United. “Through art, we hope to provide these youth with a fun and creative way to celebrate Valentine’s Day.”
