Make-A-Will Month: A reminder to take care of the future and the causes you care about.
August is National Make-A-Will Month. It’s a reminder to take care of the future for yourself, your loved ones, and the causes you care about.
At Sasha Bruce Youthwork (SBY), we work every day to help young people feel safe and supported through a full continuum of care from street outreach, Drop-In Centers, residential programs, and more. When you include SBY in your will, you help make sure that continues for years to come.
Writing a will might sound daunting, or like something only older folks need to do, but it’s a wise step at any age. It brings peace of mind and ensures your wishes are honored.
With so many tools available to help you get started, one trusted option is FreeWill, a free, easy-to-use resource that allows you to create your will online in just 15 minutes.
Adding “write my will” to your to-do list this month may not feel urgent, but it’s one of those small steps that make a lasting impact for you and those you love.
When you write your will, you:
-
Protect your loved ones (including pets)
-
Reduce future stress for your family
-
Share your values long after you’re gone
Many of our supporters have proudly chosen to include Sasha Bruce Youthwork in their wills, leaving behind a legacy of healing, support, and hope for young people across our region.
If you’re already including us in your plans, thank you. If you have questions, you can reach Jasmine, our Assistant Director of Development, at JThakurdas@sashabruce.org or (240) 909-1272.
Let’s build something that lasts.
