Welcome!

From its inception, Sasha Bruce Youthwork (SBY) has worked tirelessly to protect, empower
and inspire homeless youth in the greater Washington, D.C. community. SBY’s efforts have
positively influenced the trajectory of countless young people and their families. With its
emphasis on:

  • Safe Homes
  • Life Skills Coaching
  • College and Career Readiness
  • Mental Wellness and
  • Family Empowerment

SBY has been instrumental in unlocking the limitless potential that rests within our young
people. Further, its efforts have served as the paradigm upon which many other models have
been built.

This year’s 50th Anniversary Gala provides an opportunity to celebrate past achievements, acknowledge current successes and inspire and support innovations in the future. Throughout the course of the evening, our young people will share in their own words the myriad ways in which their lives have been changed through the engagement and support received from SBY.

As Co-Chairs and avid supporters, we stand alongside SBY’s passionate staff, volunteers and valued corporate, governmental and community partners to support the work of creating a world where youth
homelessness is fleeting, nonrecurring and, eventually, nonexistent. Your presence tells us that
you share this vision.

We celebrate and encourage your partnership now and in the years to come.

Sincerely,

Dwight and Toni Bush, Jackie Bush, Charlie Bruce and Major Lewis
