Welcome Jasmine as our new Manager of Individual Giving!

We are excited to welcome Jasmine Thakurdas as our new Manager of Individual Giving, supporting the growth of the Development team at Sasha Bruce. Jasmine is driven by mission-focused philanthropic work, in honor of her father who is a cancer survivor, and in honor of community members facing adversities.

She joins us from The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)’s Mid-Atlantic Region where she first supported Team In Training (TNT), the flagship fundraising program for LLS. She then worked with over 350 D.C. metro area schools to increase donor engagement to become the second highest fundraising school region within LLS. Jasmine took on a Communications role, creatively growing media partnerships and managing social media, then joined the Leukemia Ball team, supporting the region’s $3M annual black-tie event through corporate sponsorship and stewarding a young professionals committee of 20+ members to raise $30,000.

A Maryland native and beach lover, Jasmine received her Bachelor of Arts from Salisbury University in Communications, with a minor in Music. She resides in Springfield, VA where she enjoys spending time with her husband Eliab and their cat, Cloud. She is passionate about her faith as well as diversity, equity & inclusion, and is most proud of her work within the Black Employee Forum (LLS’ inaugural Employee Resource Group), serving as Secretary and participating in the organization’s first Juneteenth panel (4:50 – 7:10).

Jasmine will be designing fundraising strategies and events that support the Sasha Bruce mission to help young people in D.C. find safe housing, create and strengthen families, and explore opportunities in education and careers.

Subscribe to our monthly newsletter and be on the lookout for more messages from Jasmine. She can also be reached at jthakurdas@sashabruce.org.
