Since 1974, we have dedicated ourselves to improving the lives of youth at-risk of experiencing homelessness. We understand the importance of fostering positive growth and are committed to helping our youth thrive.
Sasha Bruce Youthwork provides a comprehensive support system for vulnerable youth through a diverse range of residential facilities, empowering young individuals with counseling, educational programs, and valuable resources. These initiatives serve as transformative stepping stones towards achieving a more stable and supportive family environment or embarking on a journey of independence and self-sufficiency.
Sasha Bruce Youthwork goes above and beyond in offering tangible educational and workforce development opportunities to empower young individuals. Through a comprehensive approach, Sasha Bruce Youthwork provides and connects youth to various vital resources, including personalized mentoring, academic support, career planning, and job placement assistance. These multifaceted initiatives play a crucial role in enabling young people to maintain their focus on the future while acquiring the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the workforce.
SBY builds young people’s life skills by focusing on communication, daily living, work and study skills, home life, self-care, social relationships, housing, and money management. We also emphasize community engagement, parenting education, and health and wellness as key elements of our programming.
Our youth centers, located in DC and Prince George’s County, Maryland, offer a safe and supportive space for young people experiencing homelessness or unstable housing. At each center, youth can access free services such as public benefits assistance, case management, clothing, and computer and internet access, providing essential support for a brighter future.
There are many ways to get involved with Sasha Bruce Youthwork. Together we can make a difference.
